We are currently featuring the work of Kennen Mulverhill, a Philadelphia-based artist who started his career drawing in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York. After deciding he’d like to experience seasons other than winter, he began traveling. With stops in Italy, Spain, France, and the Southwest United States, he brought with him his sketchbooks full of ideas and inspirations to the Philadelphia environs.

Kennen is particularly intrigued by the shapes and values of light, and approaches painting like a sculptor, exploring an image through layers and contrast. This builds into his work an inherent question or idea, creating drama and interest. 

Interested in the story behind every piece of art, Kennen loves the challenge of painting commissioned pieces and is interested in the story behind every piece of art. Filtering a client’s ideas through his natural vision and style, Kennen has produced artwork for homes that leave customers feeling connected to their personalized work.

Confident in many media and styles, Kennen has painted on many surfaces including canvas, concrete, glass, stone, metal, and wood.
